Holiday Closings

The following are days when the library is closed in 2011:

January 1 - New Year's Day 
April 22 - Good Friday
April 24 - Easter
May 30 - Memorial Day
July 4 - Independence Day
September 5 - Labor Day
November 24-25 - Thanksgiving
December 24-26 - Christmas

From Germantown (from the West):

Take Poplar Ave. EAST
You will pass Baptist Memorial Hospital on the left hand side
Go to the 3rd red light after passing the hospital
The Awards Place will be on your left
Turn LEFT onto Poplar View Parkway
Go to the stop sign. The library is the building on the left hand side.

From 385/Bill Morris Parkway:
Take Houston Levee Exit and turn NORTH or LEFT
Turn RIGHT at Poplar and travel approximately 2 miles to Poplar View
Turn NORTH or LEFT onto Poplar View Parkway by the Awards Place
Go to the stop sign.  The library is the building on the left hand side.

What are QR Codes?

QR Codes are 2-dimensional barcodes which can be scanned by many smart-phones, either through previously installed stoftware, or downloadable applications.  The encoded information can include websites or text, and is being used in our library in two ways:

1. To view the library's website.

2. They are placed on many library items for patrons to learn about similar authors or books in a series.
